On the Nonexistence of Shoes (Or, Harry the Ashoeist)
by D. Araujo
Harry loved his purple shoe
And hated things that fly
So when his shoe grew wings and flew
He made a purple sky.
His other shoe was blue and true
But soon began to cry;
It missed its match: the purple shoe
Up in the purple sky.
“By Hermes feet!” Harry cursed
While painting earth with blues.
“I never thought I’d be the first
To prove there are no shoes.”
